United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust sees the benefits of using The CT3000.
Jan - Feb 2007
The Johnson Hospital (Primary Care) works closely with the urological teams at The Pilgrim Hospital (Secondary Care) in the diagnosis and evaluation of LUTS in men. The services they provide helps to reduce the time and cost burden of patients having to travel long distances to seek medical help.
The CT3000 provides information about bladder contractility and postoperative success from TURP. Patients who are unlikely to have a clinically beneficial outcome from surgery avoid the morbidity associated with the procedure as well as having to travel long distances to the secondary care site.
Patients can very quickly be categorised into those requiring further studies, empirical treatment, watchful management and TURP.
“The CT3000 will greatly reduce the waiting lists we have by enabling us to be more selective in the patients we send for more invasive studies and has resulted in a considerable saving in costs”. Staff Nurse Ruth Bailes.
